 Exellent Guidline for tuning NIssan Sport Compacts
Combined with a factory service manual, this book was obviously written to be informative and provide tuning guidance, and not step by step processes, which it does effectively.
With regards to the book pointing to the "FSM", a person modifying a modern car would be insane to not own a Factory Service Manual.
While the engine performance modifications may not agree with some of the other reviewers, the turbocharger is the equalizer for sport compacts when compared to big displacement engines, which is my primary area of interest. However, the book covers tuning aspects from bumper to bumper, from suspension to driveline to body modifications.
A final thought, as one reviewer mentioned, Nissan Sport Compacts DO NOT receive the aftermarket support that Honda does. Knowing which manufacturers of quality parts to pick from is half the game, and the book points them out effectively.
No brainer for the price.
 Not a step-by-step guide, but contains useful facts.
I ordered this book from the other side of the world from where it's published and I'm happy with the content inside the book compared to what I paid.
Turbo grease monkeys should enjoy reading the turbocharger section where some calculations necessary for force induction are provided. But as an owner of NA cars, I really hope there could be more useful information about All Motor modifications. There is NO camshaft dyno comparison so if you expect to see how various types of cam perform, you'll be disappointed.
Also, I must say that this is not a kind of assembly guide where you can watch everything being done step-by-step. I don't think a beginner will be able to go out doing porting or modify shortblock in his garage by just complete the reading of this book.
For the price of three gallons of gas, the knowledge is useful and at least nice to have it memorized so you can talk to your carnuts or your mechanic more enjoyably. But if they had priced it at $35, I could have said something different.
The best book period for the newer generation compact Nissan
Although this book does not include the Z or the G35 (which are not really compact cars), it has excellent content for modding the small Nissans after the 510. This books is better suited to the current market than Bob Waar's classic, "How to Modify You Datsun" book. It has has conternt that is more relevent to people building street registered cars although it does touch race cars.
The book is a great aid on how to modify these car even though they have little aftermarket support compared to other brands such as Honda. The Turbocharging information is particularly good.
Overall its an excellent book. The guy who wrote the lame review above is on crack.

What a crap publication !!! I am stunned that this book is titled "how to". There is virtually no true technical information in this book at all. No factory specifications, just multiple " see factory service manual" comments.The book features numerous "there are no aftermarket parts for this engine but you could get something custom made" comments. So much for the book being a reference !! If this book enlightens anyone then that person should never take a spanner to his or her car !
Do not buy this book.
