Loaded with Inaccuracies!!!! This book is so inaccurate it is ridiculous. I have had many vintage Japanese bikes and I know them so when I see how wrong this book is in so many areas it is just terrible. This book is hastily thown together to make money. It is very bad. It is not just poorly done it is very misleading with incorrect information thoughout.
Dissappointed I wish I had read these reviews first. I purchased the book based on a review in a monthly I trusted. It is not a total waste but a big disappointment. In less than two hours I found the above comments and others like the TWO out of four pictures in the 1999 Kawasaki section misidentified. Also three Nighthawk S pictures with minor paint changes are a complete waste of space as were SV1000 and SV650 pictures where the only difference is muffler size. It was obviously not edited or reviewed by a motorcyclist. Big disappointment.
Good Effort Falls Short I purchased this unseen by mail and was rather disappointed. Anyone familar with motorcycles of the past 2 or 3 decades will find glaring errors of commission and omission. One example is that it states the Suzuki Intruder 1400, which everyone knows is a V-twin,was introduced in 1987 with the 1360ccV-4 engine; this error is repeated for every year 87-2005. Another is looking at Kawasaki 1995-96 they totally ommitted the GPZ1100(ZX1100 E1 & F1) models. I can understand gaps in research on the older stuff, but these were well documented only a few years ago! The color photos are first rate, but they include repeated views of the same bike: the 69-71 Hondas they picture the CB750 SIX times; in the 1989-90 Hondas the all new models introduction of the GB500, Transalp 600, ST1100 and PacificCoast800 and there are NO pictures?!
The repros of older magazine ads are a nice feature. This is a book if you can pick up on the half off bargin rack would be a nice find, but I regret paying top dollar for it.
somewhat useful but disappointing in the end I wish I had seen jodie arnold's review before I bought it. Cover says "Production figures" but these a woefully lacking. I expected and wanted some manufacturing numbers but there were none.
this book is nothing special this book does not go into any depth specifications are not listed does not do justice to subject.
